The Earth Upper Atmosphere and the Motion of the Artificial Satellites

Ladislav Sehnal

The theory of the motion of an artificial satellite in the terrestrial upper atmosphere is described. The atmospherical density definition includes the diurnal effect as well as the flattening of the atmosphere. An example of computing the analytical formulae using compute algebra is given. The theory of the atmospherical lift is shortly discussed and the effect of the rotation of the atmosphere is shown on several examples of determination of the upper atmosphere rotational velocity.
