A class of distributions, named $\pi(G)$, is defined as a generalization of de Haan's $\pi_g$ rig class of functions [2], The properties and the characterization of the class $\pi(G)$ are given. The applications of the class $\pi(G)$ are left for the second part which will be treated in the next paper.
