The discretisation (6) of problem (1) is constructed on a non-uniform mesh. An exponentially fitted scheme is used and the 1 i near convergence uniform on a small perturbation parameter is proved. In the case of a uniform mesh, our scheme reduces to the well known scheme of [1]. Numerical results are obtained on a special mesh, which is similar to the one in [3].
