The concept to enable access to archival holdings through new form, through digital document, is something that is assumed in circumstances when technical-technological development permits that. Digitizing projects are numerous in archival world and advantages of using digital document are obvious.
The first project of digitizing in Archives of Yugoslavia is presented. The project consists of five phases: preparation, database design, digital document forming, programming and analyzing results. Apart from phases' description the author clarifies reasons for choosing an exhibition as the base of the pilot project and gives data about software and hardware used.
Although the main project's objective is acquiring adequate (reliable) metrics data concerning digitizing projects in general, introducing new exhibition form is also a benefit.
