This paper investigates the viscosity approximation method with a general class of $\varphi$-contractive mappings. We demonstrate that Moudafi’s viscosity approximation scheme can be derived from Browder and Halpern-type convergence theorems. Our results extend several existing convergence theorems. Finally, we present a series of deduced results based on these findings. We also present an application of the obtained results to split feasibility problems.
