We consider a new hybrid conjugate gradient algorithm,which is obtained from the algorithm of Fletcher--Reeves, and the algorithm of Polak--Ribière--Polyak. Numerical comparisons show that the present hybrid conjugate gradient algorithm often behaves better than some known algorithms.
