In the present note we prove the nonexistence of finite semigroups with log-maximal free spectra (asymptotically behaving as $k^{k^n}$ for $k$-element semigroups). Also, several examples of finite semigroups with log-exponential free spectra are presented, as well as some problems concerning the topic.
