In this paper we consider a general iterative method for solving hereditary differential equations. We give sufficient conditions for uniform convergence of a sequence of iterations to the solution of the original equation and we estimate the speed of convergence of these iterations. Also, we construct some concrete iterative methods as special cases of this general iterative procedure.
